Keysborough Angling Club

History of the Club

Keysborough Angling Club Inc. was commenced in 1978 by a group of young men who were very keen anglers who met on a Friday night at each other’s houses for a few social drinks and to talk about their fishing exploits. As the club grew the meetings then moved to the Function Room at the Keysborough Hotel.

From these informal meetings the club has evolved to what we have today. We have an active membership who enjoy their fishing and also various social activities. A membership includes member, spouse/partner and children up to 16 years of age.

After moving from the Keysborough Hotel to clubrooms in Patterson Lakes we have found our existing home at Edithvale Golf Club, Fraser Avenue, Edithvale. New members and their families are very welcome!

Four of the original foundation members are still involved in the club and we are proud to present 10 life members:

Terry Quirk Harry Nangle Paul Martin
Ian Green Rod Mulholland Graeme Brennan
Graham Simester Rob Joynson Helen Simester
Dave Jacobsen

Keysborough Angling Club members have also assisted with :

  • Mates Day (Future Fish Foundation)
  • Social days for 'Kids with Cancer'
  • Social fishing days for under priviledged children
  • BBQs for the above
  • Scattering of ashes in the Bay
  • Artificial reefs in Port Phillip Bay

The club sincerely acknowledges all past and present members and their families and thanks them all for their contribution to making our club what it is today!
